Picnics on the Lawn – 4 to 7 p.m. - Main Lawn

Manchester Boddy BREAKS THE RULES - bring your own picnic or buy a casual picnic from Patina Catering Group. Either way, enjoy a Black Cow (root beer float) or a slice of apple pie. Bring blankets or folding chairs, limited tables and chairs will be available.

Pony Rides at the Rancho
4 to 6:45 p.m. - Rose Pavilion
$5 a ride (cash only)
Manchester Boddy brings out “his horses” – Milky Way, Rascal, Bonney, Tank, Cracker Jack and Witchie Poo -for a gentle tot-trot with our equine friends. Rides are hand-led through our beautiful Rose Garden. Bring your camera. 18 months and older, 125-pound limit, with an accompanying adult.

History Walk and Talk
4:30 to 5:30 p.m. - meet at the Center Circle
This informative walk and talk will focus on the early days of Descanso.

Music of the ‘30s and ‘40s
5 to 7 p.m. - Under the Oaks Theater and Main Lawn
The Verdugo Swing Society will usher you into the music of the 1930s and ‘40s.

“Jitterbugs”
4 to 7 p.m. - Magnolia Lawn
What’s a proboscis (pro-BAHS-kis)? Find out, make buggy toy and “jitterbug” to music of the 1930s and ‘40s.

Enchanted Railroad
4 to 7 p.m. - Young and old will ride the rails for $3 a ticket.
