Your support helps preserve the landscape and enrich the programs we offer to community members of all ages. Sponsorship support enhances education and public service at Descanso Gardens. You may designate your tax-deductible gift to a variety of landscape naming opportunities listed below.

ADOPT-A-ROSE TILES: INTERNATIONAL ROSARIUM
This five-acre rose garden contains more than 3,100 roses representing centuries of horticultural history and dozens of regions around the world. Significant collections of species, old garden and modern roses are arranged in theme gardens. Descanso’s roses share their space with companion plants, streams, gazebos and fountains. The Rosarium also is home to Southern California’s largest public collection of iris.

Sponsorship Opportunity: Tiles are located in the Rose Pavilion, a 3,500-square-foot, open-air pavilion located in the center of the International Rosarium. The flooring consists of rose-colored granite tiles. The size available for sponsorship in the Pavilion is 12” X 12”. Tiles also are available in the Children’s Secret Maze, located just north of the Rose Pavilion. This is an open-air hedge maze. The center is covered in both 8” X 8” and 12” X 12” tiles.
Sponsorship Details: Engraving takes place in February, June and October. An appointment with the Development Office is required to choose your location.

BENCH SPONSORSHIPS: UNDER THE OAKS THEATER
The Under The Oaks Theater is nestled in the shade of the Oak Forest, just across from the Japanese Garden. Funded through the support of The Ahmanson Foundation, the stage celebrates age-old affinities among gardens, music and art. This woodland theater is host to many weekend performances, educational demonstrations and children’s concerts. The majesty of oaks provides a stunning backdrop to the diverse performances.

Sponsorship Opportunity: Located in this peaceful theater environment are custom-designed benches made of recycled giant sequoia from the Sierra Foothills. The seating consists of 8’ and 4’ benches. Only 8’ benches are now available for sponsorship.

Sponsorship Details: Sponsorships are available throughout the year. A brass plaque
(1.5” X 8”) is engraved and placed on the bench within four weeks of payment. The donor may select a bench. Please contact the Development Office for bench availability information.

GARDEN BENCHES: THROUGHOUT THE GARDENS
(excludes the Japanese Garden)
Descanso Gardens strives to create a natural, serene setting which offers a variety of experiences to visitors of all ages. The benches, which are placed throughout this natural setting, contribute to the enjoyment and relaxation of our visitors as they explore the Gardens.

Sponsorship Opportunity: A limited number of sites is available for garden benches. These benches will be of a style that will blend into the Gardens landscape and placed in areas chosen by Descanso staff.

Sponsorship Details: A brass plaque with inscription (size will vary depending on bench size and style) will be placed within six to eight weeks of payment. Please contact the Development Office for current bench opportunities and locations.

STONE BENCHES: JAPANESE GARDEN
Discover the tranquility of a Japanese garden that blends the design elements of tea, strolling and Zen gardens. Cross an arched bridge and stroll on shaded paths along a koi-filled stream to the Tea House. The plant collection features Japanese maples, azaleas, bamboo, camellias and other plants from Asia.

Sponsorship Opportunity: Among the paths are stone benches where guests can sit and absorb the beauty of the oak canopy over the Japanese Garden.

Sponsorship Details: Inscriptions will be completed four weeks from receipt of payment. Please contact the Development Office for current bench opportunities and locations.
