Descanso Gardens | Rental Facilities

The woodland and floral beauty of Descanso Gardens is a popular setting for many events. Whether the occasion is a meeting for 20 or a large and lavish wedding, various indoor facilities and outdoor sites within the 150-acre garden can be rented for weddings, private or corporate functions, or filming for movies, television, videos and commercials.

Indoor locations are available for private rentals from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Outdoor sites can be rented at the close of public hours, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. nightly.

INDOOR FACILITIES

Maple Room and Birch Room are adjacent to Van de Kamp Hall and can accommodate up to 50 people comfortably. These rooms are ideal for small business meetings, retreats or private social functions, such as parties, wedding/baby showers, wedding rehearsal dinners or memorial services.

The Minka, on the edge of the Japanese Garden, is a perfect location for intimate social gatherings or smaller corporate events of up to 18 people. A short walk from our Visitor Center, the Minka is reached by a graceful bridge over a softly-flowing stream.

Van De Kamp Hall, a Craftsman-styled building is used for lectures,large meetings and corporate functions, wedding receptions, memorial services and other larger gatherings. Fully enclosed, climate controlled and equipped with speakers and a microphone, Van de Kamp can accommodate up to 200 people table seating or 250 lecture style. The Hall is part of a complex of buildings located by the Visitor Center that includes an outdoor courtyard ideal for after-hours receptions.

GARDEN LOCATIONS (evenings only)

Rose Garden Pavilion. Our Craftsman-styled open-air pavilion, situated in the International Rosarium, is surrounded by five acres of more than 4,000 rose bushes and thousands of colorful companion plants and trees. This idyllic 3,500-square-foot pavilion can accommodate up to 180 people.

The Boddy House is comprised of a gracious lawn and patio surrounded by the beauty of Descanso’s majestic oak forest on one side and a chaparral covered hill on the other. It is the perfect venue for an evening event of up to 90 people.

The Japanese Garden lends itself to stylish outdoor events in a serene setting of Asian elegance. A feast for the senses, the Japanese Garden is graced by a blue-tiled Tea House and lovely raked-rock garden, and the murmur of a koi-filled stream infuses the setting with the sound of nature. The Japanese Garden can accommodate up to 60.

Payment
Fifty percent of the applicable rental fee must be paid at the time of the contract being signed, with the balance due 1 month prior to the event. Checks should be made payable to Descanso Gardens Guild and mailed to:

Food Service
Patina Catering at Descanso Gardens is our exclusive caterer and provides fine food with a flair for all occasions including showers, rehearsal dinners and receptions. The banquet menu features a wide selection of traditional favorites and creative cuisine for all tastes and budgets. The catering coordinator will also tailor a menu to meet specific ethnic or religious preferences. Parking
Complimentary parking for 400 cars is available in the main parking lot. Auxiliary parking lot can accommodate an additional 300 cars.

Nestled in the foothills of the majestic San Gabriel Mountains, Descanso Gardens is easily accessible from the #2 or #210 freeways and is conveniently located just 20 minutes from downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood, and Burbank.
