Available for groups of 25 or more
Tour Packages Provide:
- Free parking for bus, vans or cars.
- Admission to the Gardens included in all tour
prices.
- Free Gardens admission for driver and one escort.

assist you with reservations and can offer creative ideas to make
your visit a success.
- Box-lunch reservations available.
- Picnic area available by reservation.

- Catered luncheon (only for Day at Descanso).
Self-Guided
Walking Tour
60 to 90 minutes. Independent walking
tour of the Gardens
For an independent group of 25 or more (no maximum), the Self-Guided Walking
Tour is a great option and is available all year long. Self-Guided Walking
Tour includes a 10-minute orientation to Descanso Gardens and a site map for
each person. Walking tours are rain or shine so please have group members dress
appropriately. Allow a minimum of 60 minutes to tour the grounds. Walking tours
are for persons of reasonably good health and capable of a substantial amount
of walking. Please contact us if you have questions about the suitability of
the Self-Guided Walking Tour for your group. Please allow two weeks advance
notice to reserve your date.

Garden Discovery
Walk
60-minute narrated walking tour with
a trained Descanso Gardens docent
Experience the sights, sounds, fragrance and history of the Gardens with a
Descanso docent. For groups of 25 or more (no maximum), available every day
of the week, this tour will introduce the magic and history of the Gardens,
with an eye to seasonal surprises. We can create customized tours to meet your
group’s special interests. We provide one (1) docent per 25 guests. Walking
tours are rain or shine so please have group members dress appropriately. Walking
tours are for persons of reasonably good health and capable of a substantial
amount of walking. Please contact us if you have questions about the suitability
of Garden Discovery Walk for your group. Please allow three weeks advance notice
for your desired dates.

Grand Tram
Tour
50-minute motorized tram tour of the
Gardens, with narration
Ride throughout the Gardens on our tram. Relax and absorb narration that emphasizes
plants and history that make up the beauty of Descanso. This narrated tour
is provided by our Visitor Center staff. The tram stops at the Boddy House
Art Gallery and continues through the landscape, providing an excellent overview
of the Gardens. Grand Tram Tours are available Tuesdays through Fridays at
10 and 11 a.m. During rain Grand Tram Tours cannot be conducted. Please allow one month’s
notice for your desired dates. The tram can accommodate a maximum of 45 riders
per tour, and a minimum of 25 is required.

Four-hour immersion in the beauty
of Descanso Gardens
Select an in-depth Descanso experience filled with discovery, quality and the
fun of learning. Guests at Day at Descanso become informed visitors with a
greater knowledge of the garden, its history and offerings. This program, offered
Mondays through Fridays throughout the year from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., requires
a minimum of 25 and a maximum of 45 participants. Your group will be welcomed
at a reserved meeting room with coffee, tea, and water service. The event includes
a lecture with slides, narrated tram tour and an elegant luncheon. Fresh-cut
Descanso flowers grace each luncheon table. Time will be allowed for questions
and a visit to the Gift Shop. During rain the tram tour cannot be conducted, but we will accommodate your group with a supplemental presentation. Reservations must be received
three-weeks in advance.

Boxed Lunches
Pre-ordering boxed lunches is a great way to meet
the needs of your group. A boxed lunch, reserved ahead of time and
ready for delivery, will save time and make your visit more enjoyable.
A reserved picnic area also is available upon request.
Planning Tips
Dress for comfort. Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress
in layers to allow for changeable weather. Sunscreen and hats are advisable.
With so much to see and do, plan a delicious break by selecting boxed lunches.
Ask a Tour Adviser to help you plan an itinerary with enough time for visits
to the Gift Shop, the Boddy House Gallery and other features of the Gardens.
