Spring Blooms Update – March 19, 2019

Cherry blossoms: ‘Pink Cloud’ cherry trees are blooming in the Japanese Gardens. The cherry plum trees along the Promenade are blooming. Cherry blossoms are not yet at peak bloom.
Tulips: Tulips are getting closer to peak bloom along the Promenade.

Azaleas: Some azaleas blooming throughout Descanso.
California poppies: Some blooms in the parking lot and Rose Garden. Not yet blooming in the Oak Woodland.
Clivias: Some clivias are blooming. Not yet at peak bloom.
Crabapple: Some crabapple blossoms in the Rose Garden. Not yet at peak bloom.
Dogwood: Not yet blooming.
Lilacs: A few lilacs are starting to bud. Most are not blooming.
Magnolias: Magnolias are starting to bud along the Promenade stream and near Center Circle. Not yet at peak bloom.
Roses: Not yet blooming.
Wisteria: Not yet blooming.
