Registration opens Monday, August 15
Join us for a special pop-up yoga class led by Barbara Wood on Saturday, September 10 from 8:30–10am in the Rose Garden. Rejuvenate your body and mind after a 25-minute garden walk and 60-minute yoga practice.
Yoga can slow down the natural decline of bone mass while simultaneously improving strength and balance. A daily yoga practice can improve your bone density as you learn proper alignment and what is safe to do.
Meets in the Rose Pavilion. $20 members, $25 non-members. Advance registration required, registration opens Monday, August 15.
About Barbara Wood
Certified as a Hatha Yoga instructor, Barbara‘s yoga style incorporates her background as a modern dancer, specifically Alignment Release Technique, and F.M. Alexander Technique. She trained under Dr. Loren Fishman, NY, and is certified as a Yoga for Osteoporosis and Yoga for Back Pain therapist. If you want to keep your body moving fluidly throughout your life, having a strong, healthy back is a must. Yoga is a gentle yet powerful and effective way to both stretch and strengthen the back and increase its flexibility. This class will give you a taste of yoga for all bodies, focusing on your spinal movement and strength.

In practicing yoga with someone, the body of your partner becomes an extension of your own and enhances your understanding of a stretch. You can sign up with or without a partner; we’ll switch partners throughout the workshop.
