Learn about Descanso’s collection of cycads in the Ancient Forest during their most active time of year. Cycads were one of the first seed bearing plants and predate all the flowering plants that dominate our world today.
On Saturday, July 22, students will learn how these ancient plants evolved through history and gain an appreciation for the diversity we see today.
Students are encouraged to bring pens and sketching paper. This class includes use of microscopes and other botany lab-style materials. Class takes place indoors and outdoors.
Meets on July 22. $20 members, $25 non-members. Advance registration required, registration opens Thursday, June 15 at 10am.
Join us for songs, puppets and of course books! Great for children ages 2–7 with a caregiver. Meets at Nature’s Table near the Promenade.
