Explore Descanso Gardens from the ground up with your children ages 2 to 5. On the first Saturday of the month, Little Explorers will encourage kids to use their senses to discover the natural world through hands-on activities.

Mt. SAC Plant Sale @ Descanso Gardens

Join us in the Oak Woodland as students from the Mount San Antonio College horticulture program sell a variety of potted plants from Thursday to Saturday, October 3–5. All plants for sale are grown and cared for by students at Mt. SAC’s whole sale production nursery, and proceeds from the sale are used to support the horticulture program.

Join Urban Forager author Elisa Callow and featured chef Mario Rodriguez as they demonstrate the remarkable variety of salsas using the traditional comal pan and incorporating fresh and dried chiles.

Get hands-on gardening experience and help care for our Native Garden at this volunteer opportunity. Instruction will be provided and work will be supervised by Descanso horticulture staff. This is a great opportunity for individuals, friends, and organizations.
 
· All experience levels welcome.
· Ages 16 or older.
· Remember to wear comfortable clothing and closed toed shoes. Please bring gardening gloves, water and a hat.
· Limited Space Available, RSVP required.
 
RSVP to volunteer@descansogardens.org by Wednesday, October 9. You will be sent additional instructions and will need to sign a waiver form in order to participate.
